NGO Activities :

HEAVEN covers 200 villages and 8000 households in two tribal dominated districts of Odissa named Kandhamal and Ganjam for the benefit of tribals, dalits and marginalised farmers specially focus to women, children and adolescent. HEAVEN mobilizes people to join community-based organizations and encourage them to take initiatives in formulating and carrying out the activities. Such as Self Help Group, Youth Club, Children Club, Water and Sanitation Committees, Village Development Committees, Village Education Committees, Parents – Teachers committees, Farmers Clubs, Malaria prevention and control Committees, Social Watch Monitors, Village, Gram Panchayat & Block level activists and Peer Educators for HIV/AIDS & Reproductive Child Health. The key achievements of HEAVEN Water and Environment Sanitation Partnering with the district level RWSS, HEAVEN has taken up six model villages where total sanitation that is to every household constructed the toilet to avoid open defecation, community tube well for safe drinking water and hygienic practises. Child Centred Community Development Programmes HEAVEN has worked in child centred community development programmes such as early child care and development, hostel facilities for primary and secondary school going children and promote girls child education. Universal Birth Registration Under this programme 37890 children registered in 22 Gram Panchyat of Daringbadi block. Malaria Campaign Under this programme it has created awareness in 75 villages of Daringbadi block and distributed Nim oil and pragneted mosquitoes Net. Weekly anti malaria days were observed by the communities. HIV/AIDS project The main objective of the programme is to crate awareness among the tribal communities on HIV/AIDS & STI through different activities. Such as Cultural Program 3230 male and 3292 female have been covered under this awareness activity. SHG/Community Meetings 5250 male and 10624 female have been sensitize under the awareness campaign. STI camps The project has organized 36 camps, in each camp more than 150 participants have benefited by education and care services on HIV/AIDS/STI. Training of Primary and Secondary Stake Holder The project has provided 50 numbers of training to different stakeholders on STI and HIV/AIDS. Adolescent Training The project has conducted 22 numbers of adolescent girls and boys training program on STI and HIV/AIDS. Safe Motherhood Practice 60 numbers of training have been provided to1800 numbers of mothers and adolescent girls on reproductive child health. Tribal Self Governance HEAVEN Facilitates tribal people in accessing provision entitlement under NREGA, social security measures and accessing rights on notified Forest Land Rights Bill. Livelihood 225 SHGs are provided with different trainings on book keeping, maintaining records and documentation. They have been built the skill on IGP through their local available product and value addition. Educational support to students in distress circumstances in Kandhamal, Orissa As a part of peace making process HEAVEN has supported 1875 distress children in Primary and Secondary education. It has created a platform with the youths and other leaders of the community in the peace building process of riots affected areas. Vocational training in different streams is provided to adolescent girls and boys for their sustainable livelihood. Mobile health unit for both treatment and awareness and GKS training for all anganwadi, PRI, Asha and local leader.

Present Activities

Haven has been implemented the Family Welfare Project (FWP) with the cooperation of AMPC Ltd. It focus on collective women power to address their financial and social issues like to give skill up gradation training to Women on local resources (Leaf plate close stitching, machine stitching) and linkages with proper marketing. Except this it identified and sorts out the health issues as well as education, Agriculture and other village’s issues with the cooperation of SHG local leader and village committee
